Join us for this special Minnesota Smart Grid Business Roundtable and learn how Ontario is doing it — and where the opportunities are for Minnesota exporters of smart grid technologies and services.


- Professor Jatin Nathwani is the Ontario research chair in public policy and sustainable energy, University of Waterloo, and executive director, Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy.
- Andrew Bennett is smart grid industry analyst and international trade specialist, U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration.

Hear technical presentations from Minnesota smart grid companies, some already doing business in Canada. Come to network and compare notes on domestic and international sales strategies.

Steve Riedel, MTO international trade representative for environmental and energy industries, will moderate the discussion and share details of the planned Minnesota Smart Grid Mission to Canada scheduled for September 2012.

Manufacturers and service companies selling to the grid or utility companies, and companies in renewable energy, energy efficiency, information & software relevant to the energy industry will benefit by attending.

Registration and networking start at 8:30 a.m. Participation is reserved for pre-registered participants only, and priority given to Minnesota technology and service companies. Making an Impact on Energy Use in Your Community

Webinar on Making an Impact on Energy Use in Your Community. On Wednesday, January 18, 2012, from 1:00 – 2:15 pm (EST), the US EPA’s Green Power Partnership (GPP) will host a free webinar focusing on green power use in communities. 
GPP will co-host this webinar with EPA’s State and Local Climate and Energy Program to highlight how municipalities from around the country are leveraging EPA programs to reduce the impacts of their communities’ energy use.

EPA program managers will discuss the Green Power Community and Climate Showcase Communities programs as well as the tools and resources these programs offer participating communities. Representatives from two EPA Green Power Communities – Washington, DC and Corvallis, Oregon – will present information on their Green Power Community experience; Corvallis will also discuss its Climate Showcase activities.
